As the noise in the world gets louder and everything moves faster, I find myself wanting to do the opposite. That is, I want to get quieter and move slower.
The modern patriarchal system is built on speed and productivity. The faster we achieve and the more we produce, the more successful and worthy we are perceived to be. But this way of living can be deeply counterproductive and even harmful.
A Different Way of Living
In Lemurian culture, life is not built around urgency. It is built around attunement.
Attunement is a deep listening to the rhythms of the body, the cycles of the Earth, the subtle movements of spiritual energy, and allowing that intelligence to guide us in life.
To the patriarchal mind, this may look unproductive. But it’s not. It’s just a different way of living, a more feminine approach that emphasizes self-love and the heart’s wisdom. It involves an intuitive understanding that healing, integration, and transformation can only happen in spaces where we soften and surrender.
Slowing Down
Over the past two years, I’ve been living this lesson in a very real way.
You may have noticed I’ve been quieter online and slower to share new podcast episodes and light language music. When I went to upload my new song onto YouTube last week, I was shocked to see that it’s been nearly a year since I posted my last song!
This pause wasn’t accidental. It was necessary.
I’ve been moving through a profound period of healing and transformation… one that required so much space, stillness, and patience. Just when I thought I was reaching the final stages, another layer would reveal itself to take me even deeper.
There were many moments where I questioned myself. Moments where old conditioning whispered:
“You should be doing more.”
“You’re falling behind.”
“You’re disappearing… and people will forget you.”
But something deeper in me knew this is not a time to push forward. This is a time to go inward, to be gentle with myself, and surrender to the process.
What Healing Really Looks Like
What I’ve come to understand is this:
Healing is not linear. It is not measured by visible productivity or hitting milestones. It is cyclical, multilayered, and intelligent in its own timing.
When we try to rush it, override it, or perform through it… we end up disconnecting from the very transformation we’re seeking.
So if you’ve been feeling the call to slow down, to become quieter, to retreat inward… I invite you do exactly that.
You may be in a phase of deep recalibration where your entire being is reorganizing itself at levels you cannot see yet. A phase where your soul is asking for space, not speed.
Remembering the Lemurian Way
In order to slow down, we need to release old conditioning such as hustle culture, constant doing, and the need to always be “on.”
When we let that conditioning go, we begin to remember the ancient wisdom of tuning in to listen to the body, the heart, and the rhythms of nature.
This is the Lemurian way.
Right now, many of us are being gently guided back into that rhythm. So if your path is asking you to slow down… honour it.
There is wisdom in your stillness. There is power in your rest. There is transformation unfolding beneath the surface, even if the world cannot see it yet.
And whenever you are ready to emerge as a butterfly, you’ll be a brighter and more beautiful light in this world for others.
